Freddy Figueroa from Ecuador can be seen as one of the most successful judoka for his country. He won silver +100kg at the PanAm Games in Tonroto in 2015. Freddy bagged a bronze medal at the Pan American Championships in Guadalajara in 2021. Figueroa is the world record holder of most won Pan American Opens and won at eight different PanAm cities since 2014 and was most successful in Santiago. In total he won over 20 Pan Am medals. Gold medal at 2024 Pan American Open in Bogota.
