French judoka Emre Sanal won various regional tournaments in France and the Junior European Cups in 2013 and 2014 in Lyon and St. Petersburg. The French heavyweight won bronze at the senior European Cup in Saarbrucken in 2016. He was French Junior champion in 2013. He claimed a bronze medal at the European Open in Sarajevo in 2021. He clinched the gold medal at the European Cup in Malaga in 2022. He claimed a bronze medal at the Grand Slam in Tel Aviv. Seized gold at the Belgian Open in Visé in 2022.
