Spanish judoka Sara Álvarez was World Championships finalist U63kg in 2001. Alvarez won bronze in 1997 and 1999. She competed at 3 Olympic Games (1996, 2000, 2004). She was European champion in 2003 and 2004 and won 5 medals. She captured 8 national titles at senior level. Sara won 10 World Cups (Prague & Rotterdam twice) and captured 25 World Cup medals. She became Spanish coach after her career and a member of the EJU Coaching commission. She is the Sport Director for Judo at IBSA. She used to train at the Budokan in Madrid.
