Vladimir Kocman was one of the best judo heavyweights of Czechoslavkia. He was the 1980 Olympic bronze medallist in Moscow. He won World Championships medals in 1981 and 1983. Kocman won European medals in 1980 and 1984. He won tournaments Polish Open, Czech Open, US Open, Bulgarian Open.
