Finnish judoka Samuli Viitanen won the European Cup in Tampere in 2016. He took silver at the European Open in Tallinn in 2016. He won bronze at the Pan American Open in Santiago in 2015. He won the Finnish title U90kg in 2013 and 2014 U90kg and in 2017 U100kg and several medals. Samuli was multiple U17 and U20 champion in Finland. He was added to the JudoInside team in 2017.
