Croatian judoka Barbara Matic won the Olympic title in 2024 in Paris, the first ever for Croatia in judo. She was World Champion in 2021 in Budapest and 2022 in Tashkent and took bronze in 2023 in Doha. Triumphed at the Grand Slam Baku in 2024 and captured the gold medal at the Grand Slam Tbilisi and 2024 Grand Prix Portugal. She was double junior world champion in 2013 and 2014 and European Junior Champion 2013 and 2014. She took gold at the Grand Prix in Zagreb in 2016 and 2022. Matic triumphed at the 2024 European Championships in Zagreb and won bronze at 2014, 2017 and 2019 Europeans.
