Austrian judo coach Ernst Hofer won the Swiss Open in Basel in 1996 and World Cup in Sofia in 1998 U66kg. He competed at the 1997 World Championships in Paris and European Championships in 1994, 1997 and 1998. His judo club was Raika Mühlviertel. He was among the national coach team of Austria for years. He worked on talent such as the women U21 2013-2017 and youth U18 2018-2020. He passed away in November 2023 after a long illness.
