Asley Gonzalez became World Champion 2013 in Rio de Janeiro for Cuba U90kg and World bronze in 2011. Gonzalez was finalist of the 2012 Olympic Games in London. He won silver at the Panam Games in 2015. Gonzalez took silver in 2013 in Paris 5 silver medals in 2015. Asley won the Grand Prix Havana in 2016. Asley was number 1 of the IJF World Ranking for seniors U90kg in 2013 and 2014. He switched to Romania in 2021. He captured a silver medal at the Grand Slam in Paris in 2021. He captured the gold medal at the European Open in Cluj Napoca in 2022 and Rome in 2023.
