Judoka Ali Khousrof from Yemen claimed a silver medal at the Asian Open in Hong Kong in 2019. He qualified twice for the Olympic Games, in 2008 and 2012 while his country was at war. He competed at six World Championships from 2007-2019. Ali took the gold medal in the West Asia Junior Championship which was a motivating highlight in the beginning of his career. He gives judo demontrations in his country where sport has been blown away due to the war. He was Asian cadet Champion in 2007 and won the Arab Games in Doha in 2011.
