Vladut Simionescu of Romania won the European Open in Belgrade in 2017. The heavyweight won European U23 silver in 2011 and European bronze U20 years in 2009. In 2015 the heavyweight won the European Open in Sofia and silver at Grand Prix in Zagreb. He collected several World level medals in Bucharest, Jeju, Zagreb and Abu Dhabi. Vladut captured bronze at the Grand Prix in Zagreb in 2017, The Hague in 2018 and Antalya in 2019. He bagged a silver medal at the Grand Prix in Zagreb in 2021 and European Open in Cluj Napoca in 2022. He finished with bronze at the Asian Open in Taipei in 2023.
