Bulgarian judoka Yanislav Gerchev won the European U23 Championships in 2011 in Tyumen U60kg. He is multiple Bulgarian champion. He won his first World Cup in Bucharest in 2013 and gold at the European Open Sofia in 2014. In 2016 he won silver at the European Open in Madrid. He won a bronze medal at the Grand Slam in Baku in 2017. He captured silver at the European Championships in Warsaw in 2017 in 2018 in Tel Aviv and 2022 in Sofia. He clinched a bronze medal at the Grand Prix in Marrakech in 2019.
