Belgian heavyweight judoka Benjamin Harmegnies took a bronze medal at the Grand Prix in Zagreb in 2016. He won the Pan American Open in San Salvador in 2013 and the European Open in Glasgow in 2013. He won his sixth Belgian senior title in 2016. At the European Open in Glasgow he took silver in 2016. He won silver at the European Cup in Celje in 2017. He won a silver medal at the European Open in Sofia. Harmegnies captured a bronze medal at the European Open in Prague in 2018.
