The Latvian judoka was junior European- and World Champion in 2004 at the age of 17. Jevgenijs Borodavko won bronze medals at the European Championships in 2009, 2011 and 2013. In 2015 he was battling in the final of the Grand Slam of Tyumen. He claimed bronze at the Grand Prix in Tbilisi in 2017. He took bronze at the Grand Prix in Budapest in 2018. Borodavko took bronze at the European Open in Rome in 2019.
