Cuban Regla Leyén was World Championships bronze medallist in 2001 in Munich and she seized silver in Osaka in 2003. Leyen won the Junior world title in 1998 in Cali and she won World Cup medals in Munich, Rome, Rotterdam and silver at the Tournoi de Paris in 2002 U70kg. Panam Games winner in 2003. She went to the United States clinched the gold at the US Open Miami O78kg in 2010. She took the gold medal at the US Open Fort in Lauderdale in 2023.
