Georgian born Greek judoka Lavrentios Alexanidis was 2005 and 2008 European bronze medallist. Alexanidis won World cup medals in Tbilisi, Birmingham, Baku and Tbilisi, 9 years later. He competed at several World Championships. He became national coach in Cyprus in 2016.
