Japanese judoka Ryoma Tanaka became world champion in 2024 in Abu Dhabi U66kg in the final against Takeshi Takeoka. He captured the gold medal at the IJF World Masters in Budapest in 2023 and the Grand Slam in Paris in 2021. He took a bronze medal at the Grand Slam in Baku in 2021 and bronze in Paris in 2022. He claimed a bronze medal at the Grand Slam in Tbilisi in 2022. Ryoma secured a silver medal at the Asian Championships in 2022.
