Georgios Balarjishvili of Cyprus won the men's U66kg Commonwealth Games title. Balarjishvili claimed the first ever gold for Cyprus in the Commonwealth Games judo history. He took a bronze medal at the EYOF in Baku in 2019. He won the Commonwealth Games in 2022 in Birmingham. He took a gold medal at the Asian Open in Zouk Mikhael in Lebanon in 2022. He took gold at the 19th Games of the small states in Pembroke. He claimed a bronze medal at tbe Oceania Open in Perth in 2023. Gold at the 2024 European Open in Rome. Gold medal at the 2024 20st Games of the small states in Nicosia.
