The Ukraine won three Olympic judo medals by Ruslan Mashurenko in 2000 and Roman Gontyuk in 2004 and 2008. Ukraine judo got a boost by the world title of Georgii Zantaraia in 2009 and the current biggest star is Daria Bilodid who remained undefeated in 2018 and captured the world title. Since then Georgii Zantaraia won 6 World Championships medals. Judo Ukraine won 10 European titles, three by Valentin Grekov and two European judo titles by Gennady Bilodid. The Ukraine organised the Judo Cadet World Championships in 2011 in Kiev and European U23 Championships in 2005 in Kiev.
