Swiss Judo booked the biggest succes in 1980 when Jürgen Roethlisberger won the Olympic title in Moscow. But the Olympic bronze medal in 2008 by Sergei Aschwanden is still in the Swiss minds. Also Olympic medals won by Swiss judoka by Eric Haenni in 1964 and Roethlisberger in 1976. Ludovic Chammartin, Ciril Grossklaus and Evelyne Tschopp participated fro Switzerland at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio, Aschwanden, Eric Born and Monica Kurath won World Championships medals. Sergei Aschwanden also won the last two of 6 Swiss European titles. The European Cup in Uster is the biggest Swiss Judo event.
