Judo in the Netherlands has a rich history with Olympic Champions Anton Geesink, Wim Ruska and Mark Huizinga. Judo in Holland is popular since the sixties boosted by 14 world titles. Geesink, Ruska and Irene De Kok won multiple world titles. In 2009 the World Championships were held in Rotterdam. The best ranked judoka are Guusje Steenhuis, Frank de Wit, Michael Korrel, Sanne van Dijke, Juul Franssen. Dutch Judo won almost 100 European titles since 1951. The Judo Bond Nederland JBN is the Dutch Judo Association founded in 1939. The Netherlands organised the Dutch Judo Grand Prix until 2011 and The Hague Grand Prix until 2018.
