Japanese heavyweight judoka Tatsuru Saito took a silver medal at the World Championships in Tashkent in 2022. He won the 2018 Junior world title in Nassau. He won the European Cup U21 St Petersburg in 2018. He won the junior tournament Tournament Aix-en-Provence U21 in 2019. He bagged a gold medal at the Grand Slam in Baku in 2021. He claimed gold at the IJF Masters in Jerusalem in 2022 and bronze in 2023 in Budapest. He secured a silver medal at the Grand Slam in Antalya in 2024.
