Judo will be in the 2026 Commonwealth Games
The Commonwealth Games Federation has officially confirmed Glasgow as the host city of the 2026 Commonwealth Games. The 23rd edition of the Commonwealth Games will take place in Scotland from Thursday, 23 July to Sunday, 2 August 2026, returning to the city 12 years after the 2014 Commonwealth Games.
It comes after the Australian state of Victoria was originally chosen to stage the multi-sport event but withdrew as host due to rising costs.
It will mark the fifth time that judo has appeared at the Commonwealth Games, building on the success of previous campaigns in 1990, 2002, 2014, and 2022.
Glasgow 2026 will feature a scaled down 10-sport program which will include Athletics and Para Athletics (Track & Field), Swimming and Para Swimming, Artistic Gymnastics, Track Cycling and Para Track Cycling, Netball, Weightlifting and Para Powerlifting, Boxing, Bowls, Para Bowls, 3×3 Basketball and 3×3 Wheelchair Basketball, alongside judo.
