Poland wins cadet gold, but France 8 titles in Bielsko Biala

France was by far the strongest country at the Cadet European Cup in Bielsko Biala in Poland. The French captured 50% of all available gold medals. Georgia was second best with three titles. Latvia was close to gold, but a little bit unlucky with two lost finals, but in this field actually quite a good performance. Karolina Siennicka took the gold medal for host nation Poland on Saturday.

Of course the French girls were dominant, no one expected less in this country where the women have a clear say in judo. Jehanne De Bouard (FRA) won the title U40kg in the final against Austria’s Nina Auer. Another French victory in the next class U44kg by Morgane Annis in the final against Marketa Korcakova (CZE).  You wouldn’t be surprised if also the category U48kg was for France with Alyssia Poulange on the highest podium after she overcame Wiktoria Slazok (POL).

The Polish homefighters did win gold afterall. The category U52kg was more luck when Karolina Siennicka caimed the gold medals against Germany’s Helene Riegert. But the German’s came back in the division U57kg on Sunday with Sara-Joy Bauer (GER) who defeated Anna Gulite (LAT) in a field of 38 young women. This category is always strong with 44 girls in Teplice and even 52 in Zagreb last March.

Austria’s Franziska Schloegl was able to catch the gold medal in Poland against Doria Boursas (FRA). Leila Mazouzi (SLO) took bronze for Slovenia with coach and judo legend Tina Trstenjak.

It was an all French final for girls U70kg with Sandra Teophila Darbes Takam against Ilona Depri. Sandra Teophila caught the gold medal, her second of the season as she was victorious in Zagreb in March as well.

Also the heavyweight title went to France as strong Grace Esther Mienandi Lalou won the French final against Celia Cancan. Mienandi won the tournament in Fuengirola as well this season.

French lightweight Yahn Motoly Bongambe (FRA) took the first French gold medal for boys. He defeated Sebestyen Kollar (HUN) in the final U50kg.

Ukraine was strong U55kg with Oleksandr Martynchuk who took gold against Alberto Tripepi (ITA). Poland caught bronze in this division by Stanislaw Piechota (POL).

U60kg it was Frenchman Kelvin Ray who defeated Spaniard Davit Kevlishvili in the final. The French hit again U66kg with Kylian Noel (FRA) against Georgia’s Nika Morbedadze (GEO). The Georgians had a strong team anyway and took bronze with Saba Samadashvili (GEO) with 51 young men going for gold.

It led to a gold anyway for Giorgi Mishvelidze (GEO) on Sunday in a massive field of 55 participants. Mishvelidze defeated Lenz Naprudnik (AUT).

Another gold medal for Georgia after Mate Chapurishvili (GEO) defeated Austria’s Ronald Proell (AUT). Two Georgia – Austria confrontations after eachother.

Serbia has a talent in Milan Bulaja who caught the gold medal U90kg after he defeated Maksims Bizans (LAT) on Sunday. Bulaja took gold as well in Bucharest two weeks ago.

Georgia was expected to win the heavyweight final, they have a fantastic choice and Tamaz Biganashvili (GEO) won the gold medal after he bested Yaroslav Omelchenko (UKR) in the final. Biganashvili was accompanied by Giorgi Baduashvili (GEO) and Nikoloz Zaalishvili (GEO) on the podium.
