Teddy Riner happy with fourth European title

Not always Teddy Riner is present at the European Championships, but here in Montpellier, 'at home' he showed his class and took his fourth European title and could follow up his success in 2013. Riner got the cheers of the crowd and defeated Adam Okruashvili of Georgia in the final.

Although Big Teddy is still not fit, it was a good start of the Olympic period for the Games in Rio where he will have to defend his title and it delivered good confidence for this years World Championships in Chelyabinsk. Wherever he appears he still takes the gold.

Adam Okruashvili couldn't block the tall Frenchman from the title and had some difficulties himself against Andre Breitbarth (GER) in the semis. It was the german who eventually took the bronze against Matjaz Ceraj (SLO).

The second bronze was for tall Lithuanian Marius Paskevicius who defeated coming man in Georgia Levani Matiashvili.
