The Asian Games delivered a tempting draw in Jakarta. On Wednesday the Asian Games will kick off with a strong field. When you look at the U60kg field the seeded players Dashdavaa, Urozboev, Smetov and Shishime are obviously separated.

At the total field the Japanese team will have a stunning strong team where Shohei Ono is the eyecatcher U73kg. He is in the same pool as Smagulov. But also An Changrim, the number one seed, is definitely aiming for the Asian Games title. Also the Uzbek and Mongolian team seemed to have a strong line-up for this event that is held once every four years.

Besides An Changrim, also An Baul of Korea is number one seed U66kg with Joshiro Maruyama as another contender, but also Kazach Yeldos Zhumakanov will be heading for a medal.

Later during the week we will see strong judoka such as World number one Saeid Mollaei (IRI) in action, former World Champion Donghan Gwak U90kg for Korea and Takeshi Ojitani in the plus category.

Same strong names in the women’s division with U48kg Munkhbat Urantsetseg (MGL), Olympic finalist Jeong BoKyeong, Olympic bronze medallist Galbadrakh Otgontsetseg and former World Champion Ami Kondo (JPN), can you believe that.

World Champion Sumiya Dorjsuren in the starting grid U57kg with the promising Momo Tamaoki (JPN). Another World Junior champion Nami Nabekura U63kg and U70kg Saki Niizoe as number one seed. In fact each category has a strong Japanese contender. Ruika Sato will be poised to win gold U78kg with Park Yujin as possible opponent in the final. Kim MinJeong is an experienced heavyweight and might have to hold off World Junior Champion Akira Sone from the gold medal.

Make sure you follow the Asian Games because it’s an amazing field and nice to analyse.
