Great team spirit expected at European Club Championships weekend
This weekend is European Club weekend with two main events, the Golden league in Ankara and the European Club Championships in Wuppertal in Germany. The Uni-Halle in Wuppertal will host team from seven nations that will fight fort he qualification next year in the golden league. On the scene many well-known athletes such as German World Champion Alexander Wieczerzak.
On Saturday the men will compete with Hamburger Judo Team and KSV Esslingen both finallists o the German Bundesliga recently. Alexander Wieczerzak competes for the team of Hamburg. One of the strongest teams is expected to be Russian Edelweiss Grozny.
In the women’s team also a strong German participation with TSG Backnang the German Champion accompanied by 1. JC Mönchengladbach with Olympic bronze medallist Rio Laura Vargas Koch in the team. Many French women’s team and a strong team of New Stream (RUS).
The weight categories are as usual -52, -57, -63, -70, +70kg for women and -66, -73, -81, -90, +90kg in the men’s division.
The event will start at 10:00 o’clock on and the final block will be at 16:00, on Sunday at 15:00h.
