Tina Trstenjak celebrates birthday enjoying the treble

24 Aug 2016 01:25

At 24 August Tina Trstenjak celebrates her birthday. After four years hard work where in 2012 she changed from regular winner of European Cups to World Cups and won her first IJF World Tour medal followed by European bronze in 2013 to silver in 2014 and 2015 into gold in 2016. Same for World Championships, fifth in 2013, bronze in 2014 and gold in 2015. Trstenjak built up her Olympic cycle the way it should be.

She won the treble: the European title, the World title and Olympic title and achievement only Teddy Riner could equalise.

Her answers are short as her she will never grow out of her shoes and stays with her feet on the ground.

How do you feel winning gold?

"Amazing, so super. I have no words."

What about your performance in Rio that 9 August.

"From the beginning, it was not so good, but toward the end it got better. By the last match, it was very good."

Happy birthday Tina, normally a week wherein the World Championships took place over the last three years. Now the 26-year old can rest and smile with a good birthday cake.
