Japanese judoka Shori Hamada became World Champion in 2018 in Baku but lost the world final in 2019. She won the Grand Slam in Tokyo and took the gold medal at the Grand Prix in Zagreb in 2017. She won the Grand Prix in Qingdao in 2015. Hamada won bronze at the Grand Slam in Tyumen in 2015. She won her first World Cup in 2014 in Glasgow.
