Distria Krasniqi claimed a bronze medal at the 2019 World Championships U48kg. She was World Junior Champion for Kosova U52kg. Krasniqi won Grand Prix gold in Samsun, Antalya and The Hague. Krasniqi won bronze at the Grand Slam in Paris in 2017, silver in 2019 and gold in 2020. She became European U23 Champion in 2017. Vice European Champion in 2018. Krasniqi won the World Masters in 2018 and 2019 in Guangzhou and Qingdao.

Mattias Casse is the only World Junior Champion who appears at the European U23 Championships in Podgorica. The Belgian world champ is one of the favourites in the category U81kg and the highest seed. As usual a tough category with Anri Egutidze (POR), Fagan Guluzada (AZE), Dominik Druzeta (CRO), Jim Heijman (NED) and Nicklas Bloechl (GER) as medal contenders. Also home player Arso Milic is a well known fighter who won his first European medal in 2012 at the Cadet European Championships in Bar, also in Montenegro, the first major event in this relative young country. Judo important in development Kosovo Olympic Scholarships Tokyo 2020

The Kosovo Olympic Committee has signed contracts for Olympic Scholarships ‘Tokyo 2020’ with 19 athletes, who were chosen based on the their potential and chances to get Olympic norm. The event was held in honor of the third anniversary of the provisional recognition NOC Kosovo by the Executive Board of the International Olympic Committee on Tuesday. Present was also the Minister for Culture, Youth and Sport, Kujtim Gashi and Olympic Champion Majlinda Kelmendi. Read more
