Rustam Orujov of Azerbaijan won Olympic silver in Rio and became World Championships silver medallist in 2017 in Budapest and 2019 in Tokyo. In 2016 he was European champion, bronze in 2017 and silver in 2019. Rustam won many IJF World Tour events. Orujov was born in Ust-Ilimsk (RUS). He took the gold medal at the Grand Prix in Zagreb in 2017. Rustam took bronze at the IJF World Masters in 2019 in Qingdao. He took gold at the Grand Slam in Budapest in 2020. The European title for men U73kg went to Azerbaijan. New kid Hidayet Heydarov, who made his transition from U66kg to U73kg quickly, took the European title in his final against Musa Mogushkov.
