Rustam Orujov of Azerbaijan won Olympic silver in Rio and became World Championships silver medallist in 2017 in Budapest and 2019 in Tokyo. In 2016 he was European champion, bronze in 2017 and silver in 2019. Rustam won many IJF World Tour events. Orujov was born in Ust-Ilimsk (RUS). He took the gold medal at the Grand Prix in Zagreb in 2017. Rustam took bronze at the IJF World Masters in 2019 in Qingdao. He took gold at the Grand Slam in Budapest in 2020. Shohei Ono back to his best in Düsseldorf

Olympic champion Ono Shohei of Japan was back to his brilliant best as he won all six contests in Germany to return to the medal podium for the first time since Rio 2016. Ono was matched against silver medallist Rustam Orujov (AZE) in a rematch of the Olympic final and the outcome was the same as the Japanese superstar was back with vengeance after a short-lived comeback at the Tokyo Grand Slam in December.
