Dutch judoka Peter Helsdingen took a silver medal at the Dutch Championships Amsterdam in 1964 in the category U80kg. Peterwas holder of the 7th dan in judo and the 6th dan in jiu-jitsu. Besides being a high-ranking dan holder, Peter was honored by the Dutch Judo Federation (JBN) with a golden federation appreciation. He remained active in various committees of the JBN until a high age. He trained several Dutch champions in judo and jiu-jitsu, as well as more than 100 black belts. He passed away in March2024, at the age of 88.
