Russian judoka Irina Dolgova won the European senior title in 2018 in Tel Aviv. Silver at the 2017 European Championships in Warsaw. Dolgova won the Grand Slam of Abu Dhabi in 2017. She won 6 European and World Cadet and Junior titles as well as the EYOF in 2011. She won her 1st Grand Prix in 2014 in Samsun. She won bronze at the Grand Slam in Tyumen. In 2015 Dologova won her first Grand Slam in Abu Dhabi. She took a silver medal at the IJF Masters in St. Petersburg in 2017 and GP Zagreb in 2018

Munkhbat captures first victory since May at GP Tashkent

At the first day of the Grand Prix in Astana the lightweight women fought for successing Belgian Charline van Snick. With 17 women this female category was the weakest of the seven divisions. Former world champion and World Judo Masters winner Munkhbat Urantsetseg (MGL) was first to strike gold in Tashkent as she defeated Jeong Bo Kyeong (KOR) in the U48kg final. Both judoka were penalised for not taking a grip after 54 seconds and Munkhbat immediately responded with some intricate ne-waza work and trapped her opponent in osaekomi for 17 seconds and waza-ari. The Mongolian was penalised again for a false attack but kept her composure to capture yet another IJF podium. Read more

Charline van Snick defeats Ebru Sahin in the final U48kg

The first Baku European Games in judo is for Charline van Snick. In the final for women U48kg she defeated Ebru Sahin of Turkey who was showing such good form despite her arm injury which was still taped well. Van Snick took the 400 points for the World Ranking which will help her to climb the ladder towards a good seeding at the Olympic Games where the best eight will get a protected seed. Read more
