Russian judoka Tamerlan Bashaev won the Grand Slam of Ekaterinburg in 2019. He became World Junior Champion in 2015 in Abu Dhabi. The heavyweight won World Junior bronze with Russia. He was already European Team Champion in 2015. Bashaev took a silver medal at the 2018 European Championships in Tel Aviv. Bashaev became European U23 Champion in 2017 held in Podgorica.
