Amazing weekend for Belgian juniors in Kaunas
It’s a long time ago that Belgium won the medal table of an international event. At the Junior European Cup in Kaunas the Belgians took five gold medals and didn’t lose any of the finals. In total eight winning nations but the Belgians where phenomenal which is a good sign for the follow up for their senior athletes. Belgium didn’t win any medal at the senior European Championships, but the junior today had a good effort in Lithuania. Not the strongest event, but it’s a good sign of the development. Read more

Manuel Lombardo makes it three in Lignano
It was not a surprise that the Italian team was the best at the European Cup for Juniors in Lignano. With four gold medals and 8 medals in total, the Italian judoka had a good performance, the best since 2011. Germany followed with three gold medals, all in the women’s division. Read more

Two gold medals for Poland in Katowice
Two Polish champions on Sunday, the second day of the European Open in Katowice, brought the host nation to the top of the medal tally. Piotr Kuczera and Maciej Sarnacki were victorious in their categories after Poland received two bronze medals the previous day. Overall, it was a useful practice for the European Championships. Strong Belgian team at last European Cup in Berlin
On the first day of the European Cup for Juniors in Berlin, the Belgian team claimed three gold medals. In the past the women performed better, but now the men have the future. Today it was a mix of the three biggest talents: Casse, Verstraeten, and Myriam Blavier who won the women’s category U52kg. The Belgians lead the medal table with five medals, France and the Netherlands followed with two titles apiece. Read more

Strong Japanese women and Belgian men in Wroclaw
The European Cup for Juniors in Wroclaw delivered three gold medals for the Japanese youngsters. Quite similar to last year when the Japanese also had a strong women’s team. Belgium won two gold medals in the men’s divisions U55 and U73kg. Read more
