Toru Shishime won bronze at the 2015 World Championships U60kg. He took gold at the Grand Slam in Baku and Grand Prix in Hohhot in 2017. Shishime won the Grand Slam of Paris in 2016. He won the Grand Prix Dusseldorf in 2014 and 2015. Shishime Toru won the World Junior Championships U20 in 2009 in Paris and in 2010 in Agadir. Shishime is in the top 10 in the world U60kg. He won bronze at the Grand Slam in Tokyo in 2017. Shishime won the Grand Slam of Paris in 2018.

Two-time and reigning world champion Takato Naohisa won the U60kg title to celebrate an eighth Grand Slam gold medal and to extend his winning streak to 18 contests. Shishime Toru of Japan struck in the men’s lightest weight category as he won his third Grand Prix title. Baku Grand Slam winner and Former Paris Grand Slam winner Shishime, 25, is ninth in the world but has two Japanese judokla in front of him with Takato Naohisa second in the world and Nagayama Ryuju sixth with the latter duo both receiving the nod for Budapest.
