Tal Flicker from Israel won the Grand Slam of Abu Dhabi and Baku in 2017. He took gold at the Grand Prix Cancun in 2017. He won world bronze in 2017 in Budapest and finished fifth at the 2018 World Championships in Baku. He won bronze at the Grand Prix in Düsseldorf in 2017. In 2015 he won bronze at the Grand Prix in Jeju and Zagreb in 2016. He won the GP in Zagreb in 2018. Tal won European Championships bronze in 2018 in Tel Aviv and took the gold medal at the Grand Prix in Tbilisi in 2019.

Israelian Tal Flicker topped the U66kg category on Friday with a convincing win against Bucharest European Open silver medallist Alberto Gaitero Martin (ESP) in the final. The world number four, who won his first Grand Slam in March in Baku, finally clinched Grand Prix gold with a resounding win by ippon as he held down his Spanish opponent for 20 seconds having already produced two waza-ari scores. Israelian men and women claim victory at New York Open team event

On Sunday the Israelian team has won the team event of the New York Open Judo Championship which was held at the Historic New York Athletic Club, located steps away from equally historic Central Park. Oren Smadga coached Team Israel to win first place and an MVP award, Tal Flicker 66kg, Golan Pollack 73kg, Asaf Chen 81kg, Lee Kochman 90kg, and the men’s MVP Almmog Louzon +90kg. Read more
