British judoka Nekoda Smythe Davis won silver at the World Championships in Baku in 2018. In 2017 she claimed bronze at the World Championships in Budapest. Nekoda won European Junior bronze in 2013 and many international events. She won the Grand Prix in Zagreb in 2015 as first big victory. In 2018 she won the Grand Slam in Düsseldorf. She won the Europa League with Red Star Champigny in 2018. She took bronze at the Grand Prix in Zagreb. She won the Grand Slam in Brasilia in 2019.

Nekoda Davis comes of age with golden victory in Zagreb

Samsun Grand Prix bronze medallist Nekoda DAVIS (GBR) took her career to new heights in Zagreb as she defeated Olympic bronze medallist Marti MALLOY (USA) who was fresh from winning the Pan American Championships a week ago. SMYTHE DAVIS won her first IJF Grand Prix gold medal and with it her first win against the world-renowned MALLOY who had triumphed in their two previous meetings. Read more

Superb Waechter the top with another top performance

Viola Waechter was getting better each event and was already good in Dusseldorf but at the Grand Prix in Samsun Waechter surprised the top favourites by capturing the gold medal U57kg. As the top seeded athlete of the category, Sabrina FILZMOSER (AUT), was eliminated during the first rounds, the last female final of the day opposed the bronze medallist of the last world championships in Chelyabinsk, Sanne VERHAGEN (NED) and Viola WAECHTER (GER), who was not among the favourites at the beginning of the day. British girls capture two home medals at European Cup London

London 2012 Olympian Kelly Edwards and Nekoda Davis led the way for Great Britain on the opening day of the London British Open European Cup, whilst the French team topped the medal table as the first day came to a close.
