Judoka Faye Njie of Gambia won a silver medal at the 2015 All African Games in Brazzaville. He qualfified for the Olympic Games in Rio based upon the continental quota for Africa. He is Finland based, fighting for the Gambia. The Gambian judoka narrowly lost out to current Asian Games gold medallist Didar KHAMZA (KAZ) in his one contest at the Rio 2016 Olympics. He secured a silver medal at the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham in 2022.
