French judoka Henri Courtine was a four time European champion and won 7 European medals. Henri Courtine was 4 time French champion. TIn 1956, Courtine took bronze at first World Championships in Tokyo. He went on to obtain several European titles and became national coach. In 1966, he became the first French 6th dan, along with Bernard Pariset and the same year was appointed National Technical Director of the French Judo Federation, before becoming its administrative director. He died in 2021.
