Krisztian Toth reached the World #1 position U90kg. The Hungarian judoka won the World Junior title in 2014 in Miami and took silver at the Senior Worlds. Meanwhile he won more than 20 World Cup medals and won IJF Events in Zagreb (2), Abu Dhabi and Budapest (2). At his comeback he took silver at the Grand Slam in Ekaterinburg. He won the Grand Prix in Budapest in 2018 and became father in 2017. Silver at the 2018 IJF World Masters in Guangzhou. He won bronze at the Universiade in Napoli.

Germany strong at prelims day two at GP Budapest

German athletes qualified for three finals today at the Grand Prix in Budapest. Laura Vargas-Koch was able to reach the final after a victory against Sanne van Dijke (NED) U70kg, she will now face Rodriguez Elvismar of Venezuela who defeated Karen Nun-Ira of Japan in the semi. Both are qualified for the Olympic Games. Read more


Hungary with ambitious medal chances to Olympics

The only Hungarian Olympic Champion was present at the team presentation for the Olympic Games. Antal Kovacs won the Olympic title in 1992. Hungary, organizer of the 2017 World Championships qualified again with 8 athletes for the Olympic Games, just like in 2012 in London. Read more
