Yuri Alvear is amazing judoka from Colombia, the best ever in her country. She is triple world champion in 2011, 2013 and 2014 and won bronze in 2015, 2017 and 2018. She won Olympic silver in 2016 in Rio and an Olympic bronze medal in 2012 in London and was 7th in Beijing. She won many Pan American Championships and took gold at the Grand Slam in Baku in 2017. Silver at the 2018 IJF World Masters in Guangzhou.

Kim Polling grabs her third Masters title in Guadalajara

Kim Polling prolonged the title of the World Masters in Guadalajara. Also last year she won the gold in Rabat. Also in 2013 she was superior in Tyumen, just like Sumiya Dorjsuren on Friday she won her third which makes her once more the undisputed favourite for the Olympic title. Last sprint for best 8 in IJF World Ranking after continental judo championships

Rustam Orujov of Azerbaijan is back at the number one position in the IJF World Ranking after his European title U73kg. It’s the only change after the continental championships of the highest seeds. Panam perfect practise in Havana for Olympic Games

At the second day of the Pan American Championships in Havana Brazil added another two titles, but the home crowd was more happy with the two victories of the Cuban athletes. Cuba won eleven medals in total and Jose Armenteros won the gold U100kg and Idalys Ortiz was the best +78kg. Read more

Cuba warmed up for PanAm Judo Championships in April

The Pan American Judo Championships in Havana welcomes more than 200 judoka from 25 countries of the continent. The event will be held from April 28 to 30. Brazil, Canada, Mexico, US and Argentina, with 18 representatives each, will be the foreign nations with a bigger presence. Read more

Russia and Brazil make the difference at PanAm Open in Lima

The team of Russia became the winner of the Pan American Open in Lima. With three gold medals, three silver and two bronze the Russians showed a good form. Brazil and Spain both captured two titles. At the second day it was Kirill Denisov who defeated Walter Facente in the final U90kg. Last year Denisov also won the tournament in Santiago exactly one year ago. In a pretty good field Zack Piontek (RSA) and Eduardo Bettoni (BRA) finished with bronze. Read more
