Japanese Ryunosuke Haga takes the world title U100kg
Ryunosuke Haga of Japan steps into the footlight of his coach Keiji Suzuki who won the world title in 2005. The 24-year athlete is the fourth Japanese to take the world title U100kg after Kosei Inoue in 1999, 2001 and 2003, Suzuki in 2005 and Takamasa Anai in 2010. Preview World Championships U100kg
World Champion Lukas Krpalek is on the verge of a big assignment. Getting there isn’t a big thing, but staying at the top is much harder. Last year the tall Czech super star defeated Jose Armenteros of Cuba. On Saturday Krpalek is in a pool with 2013 World Champion Elkhan Mammadov, this is not his year, so this is the opportunity to save the year. Also Ivan Remarenco of the VAE. He can shine or lose in the first round. In the other block of pool B Adlan Bisultanov is perhaps less known, but highly skilled. This Russian men could be a good replacement of Tagir Khaybulaev for the Olympic Games. Tagir is not that far, Bisultanov showed a few times that he is technically capable to stand his man. Andreea Chitu dethrones Majlinda Kelmendi in World Ranking
For the first time since March 2013 Majlinda Kelmendi was dethroned of the World Ranking position U52kg. Andreea Chitu took the World leading position for the first time in her career. The European Games Champion won the Grand Slam of Zagreb this year, the European Open in Cluj and the European Championships in Baku. Chitu is in the World Ranking top 10 since February 2013. Big movers in IJF World Ranking after the European Games
The new IJF Ranking delivered two new World leaders. In the new ranking the points were included of the European Games and Pan American Open in El Salvador. This week’s point were decreased to 50% of the points of European Championships in 2014 in Montpellier and to 0% of the event in 2013 as well as Panam Open last year. Read more

Henk Grol captures European title after gap of 7 years
Dutchman Henk Grol won his second ever European title in his career. What a tremendous success for the Dutch team. Lukas Krpalek could prolong his third European title and is the leader of the world U100kg. But it was Grol who found the way to defeat the tall Czech. In 2008 Grol won the European title in Lisbon, but in between the world has changed for Grol. Read more
