Lukas Krpalek became Olympic Champion in 2016 in Rio. Krpalek became World Champion in 2019 +100kg and 2014 fighting U100kg and double European Champion in 2013 and 2014 U100kg. He won the European senior title in 2018 in Tel Aviv. He took bronze at the European Championships in Warsaw in 2017. He was double Junior World Champion. Krpalek was 7th at the Olympic Games in London. He captured more than 30 World Cup medals including 13 victories. Coached by Petr Lacina.

The Olympic Games Games Judo Tournament has come to an end with Japan leading the medal table as expected, however the Asian countries were expected to dominate much more. Instead the European nations built out the number of titles to eight compared to seven in London. Pan America was able to capture three titles, same number as Asia. Read more

Anyone could become Olympic champion in the men’s U100kg division. The field had so many favourites that each of the participants could knock out the elite. The elite has a short expiry date. The World medallists of Astana last year had no guarantee for a medal. In the field two former Olympic champions, and they were knocked out in the first round. Men's semis full of surprises, women by the books

Not everyone can win, so in principle everything goes by the book in the women’s category U78kg. The favourites are still lined up where Kayla Harrison (USA) and Mayra Aguiar (BRA) have the highest odds with the bookies. The experts know that Aguiar will have to battle with Audrey Tcheumeo, certainly the best of the rest. However Aguiar has a record of 5-1 against the French and is by far the favourite. You can’t imagine more dominance but Kayla Harrison against Maria Velensek of Slovenia have fought eight times and all won by Harrison. Read more

Not just the top favourites but also former Olympic medallists such as Naidan, reigning Olympic Champion Khaibulaev or the determined European champion Henk Grol.
