Italian Andrea Regis was European Juinor champion in 2010 and won European medals in all age categories. He was Italian champion in 2010. Regis won the European Open in Tallinn in 2014 and collected 11 World Cup medals. He won bronze at the African Open in Tunis in 2016. He claimed a bronze medal at the European Open in Warsaw in 2019. Italian team superior at European Cup in Uster-Zurich

The Italian team dominated the European Cup for Seniors in Uster. With five titles in the women’s division and eight total gold medals the Italians topped the medal tally in Switzerland. Unfortunately, the field was extremely weak and this edition had record low participation numbers. The Italians had by far the biggest team in Switzerland (51 judoka), a stake of 22% of all participants, and 27% of the medals, and 50% of all gold medals. Read more

Jonathan Allardon follows golden footsteps of Legrand and Etienne

French Jonathan Allardon won the European title U23. Allardon is the third French European U23 champion in the history. Johann Etienne (2006) and Ugo Legrand (2008) won the title previously. In the final he met with Italian Andrea Regis. Also the Italians have a reputation in this category where Giuseppe Maddaloni won the Olympic title in 2000.
