Loic Korval is the European Champion of 2014 in Montpellier and silver medallist at the European Games 2015. Korval won world bronze in 2010 and fights U66 with his rival David Larose for Rio. He won the European team title with France. Started 2016 with silver in Havana, but was suspended for 6 months eactly in the Olympic period. He came back with silver at the French Championships U73kg. He retired in 2017 and became coach in Serbia but came back in 2019 and won bronze in Cluj at the Eiuro Op

Budapest Grand Prix bronze medallist Nijat SHIKHALIZADA (AZE) sent the home crowd into euphoria as he denied reigning Baku Grand Slam winner Colin OATES (GBR) a successful defence of his 2014 title. Loïc Korval, the European Champion -66 kg, was earlier this year suspended for 10 months for violating the rules on reporting his whereabouts to the anti doping agency. He has now had the suspension lifted according to the athlete. Read more

Loic Korval took the gold in the men’s 66kg division at the European Championships in Montpellier. The French got value for money with an all French final where Korval defeated David Larose on penalties. The second male final of the day opposed the two French athletes Loic Korval (FRA) and David Larose (FRA). After one minute and a half, each of them had one penalty. Less active than Korval, Larose was penalised a second time after three minutes. One penalty for each later, the gold medal seemed to be the property of Korval, when Larose launched a last desperate uchi-mata for waza-ari. Read more
