Dimitri Peters is 2012 Olympic bronze medallist in London and World bronze in 2015. He won the Grand Prix in Düsseldorf in 2016. Dima Peters was European U23 Champion in 2005 and senior medallist in 2006. He won various Grand Prix and Grand Slams. Coached by Detlef Ultsch he won a big price each year. Six time national champion. He will retire in 2017 after the Bundesliga season.

Dutchman Henk Grol won his second ever European title in his career. What a tremendous success for the Dutch team. Lukas Krpalek could prolong his third European title and is the leader of the world U100kg. But it was Grol who found the way to defeat the tall Czech. Six out of seven judoka in the latest Judo World Ranking are Europeans and most of them are in Baku for the European Games. Obviously World Ranking leader, World and European Champion from the Czech Republic Lukas Krpalek landed with his team in the Azerbaijan capital. Last year he won both titles and this special event is high on his list. Whether he is completely fit is the question but the newly married Krpalek should be fresh is his mind. Read more

A big team from Egypt had flown into Hungary to fight at the Grand Prix in Budapest. World Judo Masters bronze medallist Ramadan Darwish continued his rich vein of form in Budapest as he defeated German Olympic bronze medallist Dimitri Peters for the top spot. Peters lost their last meeting in the first round of the recent World Judo Masters in Rabat, Morocco, and cut a forlorn figure after conceding this one which was decided only on shido penalties.
