Scottish judoka Sally Conway took an Olympic bronze medal in Rio 2016 for Great Britain. She captured bronze at the 2019 World Championships in Tokyo. Conway started her career with a silver medal at the World Junior Championships in 2006. Won more than 7 national titles. Grand Slam bronze in Paris in 2016 and gold in 2018. She won the Grand Prix in The Hague in 2018. She won European silver in 2018 and more than 25 World Cup medals. She won gold at the Grand Slam in Düsseldorf in 2019.

In 20132 she just came back from a knee injury and won a satisfying bronze medal, in 2014 many things went wrong and Polling took a frustrating seventh place, the break knocked her out. British World Cup squad aims for a medal

The BJA have announced the team for the World Judo Championships in Kazakhstan earlier this month. Under the guidance of Gemma Gibbons who missed the 2014 Worlds in Russia because of an injury, the British team consists of 9 members. Some say that it’s not much and for instance, Danny Williams will be missed with his three consecutive gold medals in San Salvador, British Open in London and Asian Open. Read more

Zagreb Grand Prix silver medallist Sally CONWAY (GBR) enjoyed sweet revenge on Saturday at the expense of returning world number one Kim POLLING (NED) who was making her first appearance on the IJF World Judo Tour this year. World number eight CONWAY wore Grand Slam gold for the first time by defeating POLLING with 10 seconds to go in a remarkable finish in Baku. Read more

Sally Conway shines in Glasgow at European Open

Home fighter Sally Conway led the way for the home crowd taking gold in the -70kg category at the European Open in Glasgow. Conway had reached the final in typically strong fashion holding Japan’s Haruka Yasumatsu after earlier taking a narrow win on shidos over Alena Eiglova of Czech Republic. The final saw her up against Jenifer Pitzanti and she comfortably beat her Italian opponent, throwing for waza-ari and picking up yuko on the ground to seal the win. 19 year-old British athlete Ebony Drysdale-Daley took fifth place as she picked up hansoku-make against Japanese athlete Haruka Yasumatsu in the bronze medal contest.
