Judoka Joshua Katz started 2016 well with a bronze medal at the African Open in Tunis, his 1st World Cup medal. In 2015 he won his 1st senior Oceania Champion while he won countless youth titles. Part of the famous Aussie Katz family, he is one the youngest ever judoka for Australia at the Olympics. He took a bronze medal at the European Cup in Malaga in 2018. Joshua took silver at the Asian Open in Hong Kong in 2018.

Two Australian judo brothers will make history when they arrive in Rio for the Olympics in August. Nathan and Josh Katz, the first brothers to represent Australia in judo, received their tickets to Rio following a two-year qualification period. Katz brothers both win gold for Australia

Brothers Joshua and Nathan Katz contributed to hosts Australia's haul of 10 gold medals on the opening day of the Oceania Judo Championships at the Sport Combat Centre in Canberra. Joshua beat French Polynesia’s Yvan Shan in the two-competitor men’s under 60 kilograms division, while sibling Nathan overcame New Caledonia’s David Mai in the men’s under 66kg final. Read more
