Dutch powerman Henk Grol won two Olympic bronze medals, in 2008 in Beijing and London 2012. Grol was three times finallist of the World Championships and won the European title in 2008, in 2015 in 2016 in Kazan. He was always coached by Maarten Arens. He is sponsored by Matrix. He took a silver medal at the Grand Slam in Ekaterinburg in 2018. He won seven European medals including three European titles. He captured gold at the Grand Slam in Osaka in 2018.

European Judo Champion Henk Grol switches to O100kg after Rio

European title defender Henk Grol says he is planning to change to the category +100kg after the Olympic Games. The double Olympic medallist in 2008 and 2012 is selected for his third Olympics and will defend his European title in Kazan in two weeks time. Dutch Judo Team for Rio announced

The Dutch Judo Association announced the eleven judoka nominated for the Olympic Games. Despite the ongoing qualification period, the board will nominate eleven athletes at the National Olympic Committee. Obviously all athletes need to fit the international criteria at 30 May to secure their position. Read more
